2023: I’m Not In Any Campaign, I Do Not Belong To Any Party — Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has stated that he will not join any campaign train and does not belong to any political party ahead of the 2023 elections.

Obasanjo who caused quite a stir with his endorsement of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, disclosed that he could have gotten a third term in office if he wanted.

While speaking at a virtual engagement organised by Africa Leadership Group on Thursday, he added that he has no regrets about ruling the country.

“I am not in campaign train. I’ve used the benefit of my experience and I’ve put it plainly.

“I do not belong to any political party. I will not join any campaign train. I’ve said what is best for the country”, Obasanjo said.

On the qualities to look out for in the nation’s next leader, he opined that men and women of character, attributes, skill and attitude must be sought to deliver the country from its present woes.

“Nigeria is where we are because of leadership.

“We must decisively look for men and women who have the character, attributes, skill and attitude that we need for leadership, that will deliver in this country.
